A hearty welcome to SanDee&amelie's challenge blog!

Please, note, that this challenge blog is not related to any business and run without any profit by people, who do this for your and their own leisure time fun! Our only reward are your encouraging comments and your playing along and sharing steampunk fun and mixed media techniques. We appreciate every single entry and comment so much! Thank you for taking the time!

If you are new to this place, please, know that we are so glad that you stopped by our little steampunk corner!
Whether you are a dedicated tag or card maker, art journaler or mixed media lover - this might be the right place for you!
For more information about the rules and the little "steampunk/industrial twist" we ask of you, please check the "about" stuff and then simply jump in and create!

If you are new to steampunk and not sure if this is "your thing", maybe take a look at our winners gallery on pinterest (use the linking button on our side bar). You will find that we're mainly a mixed media challenge blog with a little twist towards steampunk, industrial and/or vintage. So why not give it a try?

We are looking forward to seeing your fab projects entered to one of our challenges soon!

Hugs,

Second March Spotlight

Time for a second spotlight this month!

And the perfect occasion to announce our next Guest Designer for April, who is no one less than Mark Perry - The Male Crafter! Wow! We are so glad we could invite him over to join us with our April challenge! You will not only get to see the fabulous project he created for us but also get to know him a little better from a little question and answering session.

Also a good time to remind you that there are only (still?) seven days left to join our challenge and get the chance to win the great prize sponsored by Mixed Media Place - finnabair's "Queen's Heart" Collection bundle!

But now to the spotlight! This time we choose a project from the 3D section: the fabulous Steampunk Cuckoo Clock made by

Manuela from Vintagesavonette!

When you hop over to her blog you can see loads of beautiful detail, the lovely inside of her clock as well and the cute birdy that lives in there :) Not to speak of the awesome clock face!
It is very well worth a visit!

We liked especially the newspaper print texture combined with the lots of fab looking gears and the lovely balloon.

Please, feel free to grab your badge, Manuela!

Thank you once again for joining us with your wonderful project!

Prize for this month's challenge

Awesome news!

SanDee and me are so happy to announce that we have found a generous sponsor for a wonderful prize to give away this month!

Just look - what a great gift to one lucky winner (we will draw randomly from all the participants of this month's challenge) we are able to offer:

"The Queen's Heart"-collection designed by finnabair!!!
What a lovely set of awesome vintage 12''x12'' and 6''x6'' papers and a sheet of matching die cut tags!

A big "Thank You So Much!" to Tusia from Mixed Media Place, who so generously sponsors us with this month's awesome prize!
I also want you to know that her online-store offers a well sorted range of products for mixed media artists along with some great stamp designs you do not find with other stores!

Our current challenge closes with the end of the month - so there's still enough time for you to participate and get the chance to win this great gift! We will flip a coin to choose between 2D or 3D collection and then roll the dice to select a random winner.

What are you waiting for? We hope you will join in soon!

In the Spotlight!

One week has passed since the start of our very first challenge and we already have a lovely bunch of awesome entries! The actual march challenge is still open - maybe you want to join in? We would love to see your creations here with us. :)

Time for our very first spotlight!

I chose the wonderfully mystic entry from

as I love the combination of Steampunk elements that create a really unique piece of art. (Actually I am a little sad about the fact that there is no further information given about the project in the blog post - I am not even sure, if the script background was just used as a background for taking the image or if it is an element of the design (maybe a card?), but anyway it fits just perfectly ;)

I really love the colouring and the ancient Egyptian mystery feel to the project (the position of the bird's wings remind me a little of the Pharao's falcon) - well, that's at least how I see it.

So here comes our first spotlight - (imagine me, waving about my arms, shouting "Applause, applause!" *lol):

Sincere congrats and please, feel free to take the badge for displaying it on your blog and thank you once again for sharing this awesome project with us!

About learning and growing - SanDee&amelie Go 3D!

RULES UPDATE!!!

Listen up, 3D crafters and "ye worshippers of the Altered Object"!

Recent events and some comments we took notice of with other blogs about a (quite understandable) slight dissapointment with our challenges only being 2D papercrafts oriented, made us reconsider that special rule and we decided to solve the problem of 2D papercraft projects not being comparable with 3D projects / altered objects by offering two inlinkz collections for each category.

But still we want to see some stamping, painting, drawing and/or crafting with all of your projects!!! Handmade rules! ;)

Top3 will be chosen separately of course. Eventual prize draws will be done by flipping a coin for choosing the category and then by random dice roll.

We hope that this will make you feel more comfortable with our little Steampunk Corner in the future!

Hugs,

Welcome to Our Very First Challenge!

Gosh! Are you only half as excited as we are? (Guess, not *lol....mostly thoughts like: is the Inlinkz tool installed correctly? Will they like our challenge? Will they throw tomatoes and never come back?...;).

Maybe you have already read our starting post about our dreams, visions and goals upon this challenge blog. If not, take the time please, as we try to explain how we think about the challenges we will prepare for you (hoping, you will enjoy them as much and as often as possible;).

But for now let's skip the sentimental part and turn to the fun thing....
the challenge itself....and our first challenge theme iiiiIIS....

"Cuckoo Clocks Go Steampunk!"

We want you to create projects showing steampunk cuckoo clocks - well, to be exact: what YOU imagine steampunk cuckoo clocks could look like. It could be a tag or a card with a cuckoo clock on it, a paper crafted project, a project created using mixed-media techniques,.... as long as a cuckoo clock is the main focus....but, please, read the rules and the "about"-stuff before starting. There are a few things we ask you to take an eye on before creating and entering a project with our challenges.

Updated: we offer two separate inlinkz-collections for 2D and 3D/altered objects each. So the monthly Top3 will be chosen twice and the problem of the two categories not being comparable may be solved that way too - besides creating a much larger field for creativity ;)

To start our challenge blog, we managed to invite a wonderfully talented stamper and crafter to do us the honour being our Special Guest Designer: please, welcome Rosie from "Rosie's Bastelwelt"!

Here's what she created on this very special occasion! (WE LOVE IT!) Thank you so much, Rosie, for sharing this awesome cuckoo clock project with us and for being with us today. As usual there went such a lot of thought, perfection and creative thinking into this!

Brilliant, isn't it? And here come the projects from the DT!

Hopefully - even though we are just the two of us (with some wonderful additional help from our GD Rosie ;) - you have seen sufficient inspiration to be in the mood to create something for our challenge and join in. We would love to see your projects with this month's challenge!

The challenge is open until the end of the month and we will announce our (very first) Top3 about a week after the collection has closed. We will also spotlight some of the entries throughout the month. So check back from time to time to see if you are the one!

And there's even more awesome news for you: on this very special occasion we also offer a surprise
 Give-Away!

The winner will be drawn randomly at the end of this month's challenge and all who enter a project (following our rules and the theme of course) are eligible! Cool, huh?

So we look forward to seeing many awesome designs of yours and hope that you have a lot of fun and enjoy yourselves at being challenged that way ;)
Please, use Inlinkz to share your projects with us (if the inlinkz-thingie does not work, tell us the URL to your post via comment form).

Wishes,

SanDee&amelie
